Mrs. Mary Anne Gibbons is the former General Counsel and Executive Vice President of the United States Postal Service.

Mrs. Gibbons is an accomplished attorney with over twenty-seven years of federal government and ten years of private sector experience. Prior to retiring in 2013, Mrs. Gibbons served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of the U.S. Postal Service for over 14 years and in other management and staff positions previously. Mrs. Gibbons’ legal expertise is in the area of labor and employment law, and she has been involved in collective bargaining at the Postal Service and in the private sector.

As General Counsel at the Postal Service, Mrs. Gibbons served as counsel to the Board of Governors and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Mrs. Gibbons has been an adjunct professor at both Georgetown and American University law schools, assistant general counsel at the United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds and an administrator at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania.

A Ward 1 resident, Mrs. Gibbons received a Bachelor of Arts from Mundelein College, a Master of Arts in Counseling and Student Personnel from Northwestern University, and a Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
